Big Changes at the Burbank Criminal Courthouse

Big changes are coming to the Burbank Criminal Courthouse next week. For many years, Burbank Court, Division 2, the misdemeanor criminal courtroom, has handled the misdemeanor criminal arraignment and pre-trial calendar. A busy day in this courtroom has been upwards of 120-150 cases, making it challenging to effectively manage the calendar. Burbank Criminal Defense Attorneys will now need to research which Division their cases are assigned, as you will read below.
Beginning next week, on April 19, 2010, the misdemeanor cases will be divided, numerically, into two courtrooms. . Division 2 will handle half of the misdemeanor cases, while Division 3, typically an overflow courtroom and Civil Case Courtroom, will hear the other half of the criminal caseload.
