Burbank Holiday Weekend
Labor Day weekend is upon us, and with it, a three day weekend for many of us. In Burbank, the holidays also generally include a higher volume of crime incidents in the city. Because of this, Burbank Police Department proactively approaches the holidays with enforcement-driven patrols, and an emphasis on issues such as drunk driving (with their DUI Enforcement Team), and related concerns. More resources will be expended by the police in assuring a peaceful and safe weekend, and their will not be a high tolerance for behavior deemed by them to be inappropriate.
Holiday weekends also involve travel, friends and family get-togethers, and other celebrations. Unfortunately, holidays may also create a tenser environment, because of the greater interaction of family, friends, ex-spouses/child visitation, etc. With that in mind, it is important to take precautions to have a safe weekend. Plan ahead if you are planning to consume alcohol, and have a designated driver. Allow calmer minds to prevail during your social interactions, including child visitation pick-ups and drop offs.
I have seen many people enter the criminal justice system for the first time in a moment of bad judgment, where people regret their behavior after the fact. The best advice is to avoid situations where you may be more likely to run into legal trouble, and walk away from confrontation or other similar potential problems.
Have a great holiday weekend and be safe!
